Overview of the
Task Force & its purpose:
The SR 710 Terminus Task Force was created under SB 710 (Durazo, 2023) to bring together regional stakeholders and develop recommendations for the future of the SR 710 stub in Alhambra and Los Angeles. Caltrans convened this group to address long-standing challenges related to transportation, land use, and community needs stemming from the canceled freeway extension. The Task Force includes representatives from local government, transit agencies, higher education, businesses, and community organizations.
Key Updates & Announcements:
Since its October 2024 launch, the Task Force has held six formal meetings and one guided site tour. It has compiled land use inventories, reviewed existing regional plans, and begun developing planning concepts focused on mobility, stormwater, and open space.
